Seats Intercity Berlin and ICE International included in summer 2024
More passengers travel on ICE International and Intercity Berlin in summer. Therefore, a seat reservation is mandatory on all ICE International and Intercity Berlin trains crossing the border between the Netherlands and Germany in the summer months of 2024. If you book a journey now on one of these trains during the months of June, July and August, it will automatically state that a seat reservation is included. So you don't have to do anything extra. In the other months in 2024, you can choose to reserve a seat or not. You can add this to your journey yourself while booking.
Free regional train travel with your football ticket on match day
From station to stadium: supporters who have a ticket for a match can travel for free on regional train, bus, tram and metro. Supporters can travel for free from 6am on the match day until 6pm the following day, according to the organisers. Fans can then travel 36 hours of environmentally friendly public transport without having to buy additional tickets. So plan your journey well in advance if you want to save money.
This scheme only applies to regional transport and therefore not to international trains between the Netherlands and Germany.
