Tips for shopping in Düsseldorf
Königsallee Düsseldorf - chic shopping
On the Königsallee, commonly known simply as the Kö, you will find the city's most luxurious and exclusive shops. The famous shopping street is almost a kilometre long and 75 metres wide, making it Düsseldorf's largest boulevard. Along a beautiful canal with old trees, you can admire the most stunning designer window displays, such as Chanel, Gucci and Dior.
At the northern end of Königsallee, you will find one of Düsseldorf's largest indoor shopping centres, Kö-Bogen. The shopping mall is a state-of-the-art building designed by German architect Daniel Libeskind. North of Kö-Bogen lies the Hofgarten city park, a green setting where you can relax after a day of shopping.
Schadowstrasse - major retailers
Another popular shopping street in Düsseldorf is Schadowstrasse, located in the Stadtmitte and Pempelfort districts. Schadowstrasse offers a wide range of affordable large retailers, clothing boutiques and many shoe shops.
It is also home to the Karstadt Düsseldorf and Galeria Kaufhof department stores. Tired of shopping? Then unwind with a coffee at one of the many bars and restaurants.
Flingern - vintage and design
Want to shop at the hippest fashion shops? Then the trendy Flingern district is the place to be. Here you will find pop-up stores, small boutiques with special items and cool vintage shops. Many artists and creative people live in this district, located in the east of Düsseldorf city centre.
The most famous street is Ackerstrasse, but also visit Lindenstrasse and Birkenstrasse. Go treasure-hunting at second-hand shop Lieblingsstücke, find a unique interior item at concept store 69m2 or eat a home-baked cake at Café Hüftgold. When you shop in the Flingern district, you are sure to go home with a unique item.
Unterbilk - boutiques and concept stores
Do you want something other than the well-known brands? Then visit the lively and hip student district Unterbilk, where you can enjoy shopping. Here there are also small boutiques, pop-up stores, vintage shops and lots of lively bars and restaurants abound.
Unterbilk is located in the south of Düsseldorf, near the Mediahafen. Stroll through charming and colourful streets and explore Lorettostrasse, Unterbilk's nicest shopping street. For example, take a look at the collections by young designers at Ela Selected or the hip shop Null:zwo:elf.
