The Christmas market in Liège is often referred to as the oldest Christmas market in Belgium. With over 200 chalets, it is a real Christmas village. Accordingly, the Christmas market has real honorary citizens and a mayor. Fun activities to do include a ride on the Ferris wheel, a skating on the ice rink or the toboggan run. And of course you can enjoy Christmas shopping.

Liège's city centre is cosy during the winter months. The Christmas markets are open from 29 November to 30 December 2024.

Besides visiting the Christmas market, there is much more to do in Liege. Go shopping and climb the 374 steps of the Montagne de Bueren for great views over the city. You can also visit the aquarium museum or one of the other museums. It is also worth scheduling time to take a good look at Liege-Guillemins station. It is a fine example of modern architecture.
