Regional trains

Besides Intercity services and high-speed train connections, you can also travel across the border with domestic all-station trains. These connections are offered by domestic service providers.

Regional Train Connections Abroad

Regional train connections are an ideal way to travel affordably and explore various countries in Europe with ease. They are perfect for a day trip to a charming city, beautiful nature, or a border region. With special tickets, such as the Euregio Ticket, you can travel even more economically. For popular destinations like Antwerp, Liège, and Aachen, there are local trains offering a comfortable and budget-friendly connection.

You can travel from Roosendaal to Antwerp and from Maastricht to Liège once an hour with the Belgian railway service NMBS. For travelling via these connections we offer, besides the regular Flex tariff, also the following discounts:

  • Youth discount for travelers younger than 26 years that travel in 2nd class
  • Senior discount for travelers of 65 years and older that travel in 1st or 2nd class

Both discounts can be combined with your NS-subscription, so that you receive the discount that you are entitled to with your subscription for the Dutch stretch. The fares can be booked online, via the NS International counter in the Service shop, by phone at the NS International Customer Service  or a travel agency. For the route Maastricht-Liège the so-called Euregio ticket is available, a special day ticket that allows you to travel through the entire Euregio.
