He wanted to create a building that felt open and light. So, he used a lot of glass and steel. The roof of the station is undulating and almost seems to float. This creates a very spacious feeling and lots of natural coloured light. The design of the station is so special that many people come to Liège just to admire it. .

Explore the city with the Blue-bike

You can collect bikes from the station and explore the city. The Belgian Blue-bike system is similar to the Dutch OV-fiets. You can find these blue, comfortable bikes at more than 100 locations. You have to pay a small annual fee to become a member. With one membership you can use two bikes at a time. The extra daily rent is inexpensive.
